How it works

Put album art inside an MP3 in three steps

Choose an MP3

Select a file up to 1000 MB. For files over 150 MB, use a desktop computer and keep the tab open while it finishes.

Pick the artwork

Upload a JPG, PNG, or WebP, or choose one of the licensed cover images in the gallery.

Download the copy

We embed a square JPEG cover and create a new filename ending in -with-cover.mp3.

Compatibility

Designed for common ID3 tags

This first release reads and writes ID3v2.2, ID3v2.3, and ID3v2.4 files. It deliberately stops on uncommon compressed, globally unsynchronised, or footer-based tags instead of risking silent metadata loss.

Some music players cache artwork. If the cover does not appear immediately, remove and re-add the downloaded file or refresh the player library.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

Is my MP3 uploaded?

No. Reading the tags, preparing the image, and writing the new MP3 all happen in your current browser tab.

Will this change the audio quality?

No audio conversion is performed. The existing audio bytes are copied into the new file while the ID3 cover frame is replaced.

Does it replace an existing album cover?

Yes. Existing embedded picture frames are removed and the selected image becomes the new front cover.

Which image formats can I use?

You can choose JPG, PNG, or WebP. The editor crops it to a square and embeds a compact 1000 × 1000 JPEG for broad player compatibility.

Why does my player still show the old cover?

Many players cache artwork. Try reopening the downloaded copy, refreshing the library, or temporarily renaming the file.
